Over a number of years I worked as an executive producer on Materia Medica, the debut album from Irish singer-songwriter Loah. The finished record is one of the projects that I am most proud to have worked on: an ambitious, multi-genre epic featuring a host of collaborators. My role as producer took in a vast array of responsibilities, including playing instruments, writing parts, programming synthesizers and drum machines, managing and engineering recording sessions and a huge amount of file management. The album was a dream project to work on and I was thrilled upon when it was released in summer 2026.
In late 2024 I did a recording session in The Clinic studios in Dublin, with an up-and-coming Irish band called Kingfishr. I have recorded piano, keys and synths on a wide range of tracks over the last few years, but it's rare that they spend 20 weeks in the top 10 of the Irish Singles Chart and are the lead single on an album that goes to No. 1 in Ireland and No.7 in the UK. 'Twas a pleasure to play on this gorgeous track.
Throughout 2024 and 2025 I spent some time working with Irish singer-songwriter Kez, which culminated in the release of a number of singles. My personal favourite track that we worked on together was Overgrown. My role on this was pretty overarching, as I played piano, synths, did the arrangement and production, and mixed the track!
A beautifully written song, I wanted to make sure the production and mix were sensitive and didn't interrupt the story-telling or overpower Kez' voice. There are a lot of elements in the arrangement and I'm really happy with the final balance of both production and mix on this one.
In 2024, I recorded piano for Anna B Savage's new record, You & i are Earth, which was released on City Slang Records in January 2025. This is a gorgeous record, and it was such a pleasure to play on. It also took me out of my comfort zone, as the entire record is acoustic, which is atypical of the projects I work on. I'm particularly happy with the piano parts on the lead single 'Lighthouse'.
In 2022, I produced the self-titled debut album for Irish alternative trad harpist Brídín. As well as engineering the recording sessions and mixing the record, I also played piano and some synthesizers on it. It was released in late 2022 to much critical acclaim in Ireland. I've included a link to the video for to Empty Room, from the record.
